kids first

We need to uplift our young Americans and teach them accountability, pride, hard work, humility, and service.

For reasons different than CRT, I chose to homeschool my 2 youngest children by pulling them out of public school at the ages of 10 and 12. I sent them back into the public school system when they were juniors/seniors after I felt they had built a strong enough character that would empower them to be a part of a system that teaches conformity but not to conform against their own ideas. That reasoning was due to indoctrination of what the public school’s influence can have on all our children. To be accepted you must all think alike and believe what the norm is in and out of the classroom to “fit in.” I didn’t want my children to “fit in,” I wanted my children to be leaders amongst their peers, choosing to respect their elders, question teachings that were based on their viewpoints—and to be able to voice them, to be critical thinkers and stand up for and represent their faith. And for that reason we left public school and I brought them home, and I may add the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. My son and daughter both participated in sports, dance and cheer, became captains of their teams in high school (and in college for my daughter), and now as young adults they contribute to our Arizona society. My son is a paramedic/firefighter with the Phoenix fire dept. and my daughter went to GCU and went on to get her degree in exercise science and health education becoming a licensed fitness instructor and opened her own LLC. Both of my children worked hard, went after their own American dream, and they serve others. I for one, DO NOT believe this was based on their skin color, their race. That theory takes away from their accomplishments. That theory paints them as “privileged,” and they were certainly not. That teaches children if they don’t succeed it’s not their fault. I don’t know where this stems from, but I do feel it WILL divide us, not UNITE us. We all have stories, we all have journeys. We need to uplift our young Americans and teach them accountability, pride, hard work, humility, and service. This is what brings out the best in all of us. This is what will Unite the States of America to become a more perfect union, under God, with liberty and justice for ALL.
